Prologue Vanity, actually. At some point in your life you realize the next turning point in your existence will not be becoming an adult, bonding with another human for good or bad, starting a family or something else constructive but simply a more or less sharp decline into nothingness. You may have wanted to be a different person, you might have wanted to have made different choices or you always were on top of things, living your dreams, but ultimately, really, it doesn't matter.
